Your creases were made too high. And yes, I agree that too much skin and eyelid fold were removed. Your surgeon exactly thinks that this is what blepharoplasty is supposed to do. Consequently, it is highly unlikely that they understand your concerns. You are right. They misunderstand their job (not just this surgeons, almost all eyelid surgeons). It would be very helpful to see a set of pictures with you looking straight ahead. However, yo have upper eyelid ptosis, a high upper eyelid crease, excess skin and muscle on the eyelid platform, and a hollow upper eyelid sulcus. This is Post Upper Blepharoplasty Syndrome (PUBS). PUBS is a spectrum. A detailed in person examination is needed to understand what resources have been left by your surgery to reconstruct your appearance. However, in many cases all the resources needed to soften the appearance are present in these eyes. Very few of these eyelid lack the resources for this.
