Hi I had a rhinoplasty 10 months ago and very unhappy with the results ! My nose is now too small for my face , overly shortened and tip sticks out to much ! Pls Advise what’s the best way yor correct

While it is true some areas of your nose worth revision due to poor structural management (alar retraction, tip definition, etc), it is untrue your nose is too small for your face, actually I'd say still needs a more balanced reduction.

Please, give it second thoughts and try to get rid of cognitive biases.

Based on what I see, the angle between the bottom of your nose and upper lip appears to be fine. There appears to be a wide appearance of your nasal bridge on front view, and an overprojected nasal tip appearance on profile. That means that you tip simply sticks out a bit too far. Certainly discuss these issues with your surgeon, or get a second opinion from another reputable rhinoplasty specialist. Wishing you while moving forward. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

When you decrease the projection of the tip, that is, when you bring the tip back closer to your face, it tends to make the nose *look* longer, as if the tip had been rotated down. So with a good deprojection, and the natural lengthening of the nose that can happen with healing from most rhinoplasties, you probably wouldn't require any specific techniques that are used to just rotate down a tip. That's good, because those techniques are difficult and usually don't work as well as we'd like.
If you had some good morphs, you could probably demonstrate this to yourself: a before and after profile view, showing good deprojection and only a modest amount of lengthening would probably look great.
You must be cautious in selecting a surgeon. A revision like this is not something that most rhinoplasty surgeons could accomplish with any predictability.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a good candidate for revision rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include nasal tip derotation, nasal tip deprojection, among other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
