Will topical CBD Hemp oil affect the outcome of sculptra?

I have been using CBD Hemp oil topically as a moisturizer, not realizing that it is an anti inflammatory. I had three sessions of sculptra- August, September, and November. Used the oil from mid December through end of January. I am worried that I affected the inflammatory response necessary for Sculptra to work.

It’s unlikely that any topical treatment would affect Sculptra’s efficacy. Sculptra is injected deeply below the dermis. Topical treatments are applied to the epidermis and there is usually minimal if any absorption. If you are disappointed with what you see so far, I’d advise returning to your provider to assess before and after photos to see what refinements may be needed. Sometimes a fourth vial is all that is needed to change a good result to great. Be sure to see a cosmetic dermatologist experienced in volumizing the face with both Sculptra and other agents to assure a beautiful, predictable result. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to administer Sculptra for the most beautiful and aesthetic look.

I do not think that using topical hemp oil as a moisturizer would affect the results of Sculptra treatments.  The Sculptra is normally injected under the layers of skin and topical products should not penetrate to the same level as the Sculptra.

I don’t believe hemp oil will affect your ability to stimulate collagen after Sculptra. Tobacco, smoking and vaping, certainly could reduce collagen production. Good luck. Dr. Aldo

Sculptra is injected deep below the dermis and topical treatment are only applied to the epidermis, therefore, there is usually minimal absorption.
