Is it safe to box after ear pinning surgery?

Question

I had an ear pinning otoplasty when I was in the 6th grade, I stopped boxing because of it but I am now a freshman in College and I am in the best shape of my life. I would like to start boxing again but there was also a problem with the surgery, as i had a medium case of keloids which required a second minor surgery. There is nothing I want more than to box again what do you guys recommend?

With high impact activity, particularly with boxing and martial arts, there is always a risk that your ears may be damaged. There is no way to predict how that damage may affect your ears, but it is a risk you should consider, even if you wear headgear.

If you intend to keep your ears looking good, I wouldn't recommend it unless you intend to wear good quality sparring headgear that protects ears at all times when you're in the ring. As you seem to suspect, you're likely to damage your surgical result and given your tendency to form keloids additional correction would be hazardous.
