The bottom of my nose moves a lot when I talk and it's very droopy. I have a deviated septum and I am wondering if the procedure to change a deviated septum makes my nose a slight bit less droopy. Thanks

Answer: Septoplasty for deviated septum, cosmetic rhinoplasty for droopy nose A septoplasty is performed in the back of the nose when there is a deviation of the nasal septum present, and is only performed or medical necessity to improve air flow. A septoplasty will not change the shape of the nose. A rhinoplasty can accomplish making changes in the nose such as lifting a droopy tip, shaving down the dorsal hump, and refining bridge line. Expect to pay for the cosmetic component yourself, while the medically related functional surgery can be billed to the medical insurance once medical necessity has been determined. Answer: Septoplasty, rhinoplasty, crooked nose Usually a septoplasty is unlikely to change a droopy nose unless it involves the very front end of the septum. Usually treatment of the droopy nose involves a rhinoplasty approach.
