I got chin fillers a few months ago. It was a simple filler injected to the soft tissue. I can see/feel there is very little filler left now. I dont want to wait for the fillet to disappear to have the implant, because I dont like the way I look without an augmentation to the chin. I met with a few doctors who said that the outcome will be my responsibility. Is it okay to have a chin implant now? is there any risk for infection? Thank you!
Answer: Fillers and Implant Hi Yulia200, There should be no contraindication in placing an implant while still having fillers but the typr of filler along with the approach for implant placement should be greatly considered. The only thing you have to accept, especially if you have HA based filler is that since it will be reabsorbed, the result you see after implant placement may still not be final.

Answer: Can I have a chin implant if I still have chin fillers? Hi, I'm sorry that you received a negative response from other surgeons about having a silastic chin implant placed when some dermal filler are still in your chin. The reality is that the dermal filler is placed in the tissues well above the chin bone and won't significantly alter the process or effects of properly placing a silastic chin implant. About half of our chin implant patients will try some dermal filler first just to see what forward chin projection actually looks like. The filler is temporary and doesn't interfere with the decision making on what shape, size or thickness of silastic chin implant is "should be" selected. That information is easily decided by examining the patient or looking at a profile photo. I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over the 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. Chin augmentation using a silastic chin implant, placed through a small curved incision under the chin, will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Sorry for the confusion and hope this clears things up.
