Without an exam your question cannot be answered.  You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. A custom jaw implant can be made to just about any dimension that the patient's soft tissue will permit. An 11 to 15mm width at the jaw angles is not uncommon. Jawline implants do not cause bone erosion in my experience but many will develop some  bone overgrowth along their sides back at the jaw angle area.

Good Question.  Any chin implant can cause bone resorption over time.  Also, the larger the implant the more chance for visibility and asymmetry.  I would recommend considering fat transfer for contouring.  This can be placed easily and symmetrically and last long term as you age.  In this way, you avoid a implant or foreign body and get a nice smooth contour with the projection that is needed.  I hope this helps.

There is no defined limit of augmentation in many cases. The soft tissue density has some effect; but we just did a couple where the amount was much greater than your goal. The key is balancing it with the midface/cheekbone area. Talk to someone with experience with implants. You need to be able to carve/customize at surgery to achieve the best results.
