Hi, I had implants 230cc micro textured silicone implants under muscle in 2001, was an A cup( picture with blue « back plan ») I changed for 240cc smooth allergan 5 years ago…love the way they look but have some BII issues. What can I expect? Lift ? My scar was around areola. What about the déformation of pectoral? What size ? ( have 2 kids (15/19) fed only 8 days each. Can the pectoral be restaured ? SHould I lift same Time or wait? If lift necessary around areola is it possible ? Thank you
Answer: BII issues There are a few options for you. First, you must make sure that when you remove the implants, you remove the capsule as well in it's entirety along with any abnormal or inflamed tissue. This is know as the En bloc procedure or 100% total capsulectomy. As for lift, I recommend not doing a lift at the time of explant. After a full recovery of 1 year, most women did not need a lift. Scar revision is also a possibility. For more details, please contact the office. Each individual is different and a treatment option will be made specifically for you.

Answer: I have some BII issues. What options are available to me? Hello @claire5959, Thank you for your question. Different options are available and really depend on the specialist that performs the surgery and his surgical technique, which varies from doctor to doctor. However, it is really important to completely remove the capsule, if you are planning to have an explant. My preference is to combine breast implant removal with immediate repositioning of the mammary tissue to address projection of the upper pole and medial areas using the BRALAN Technique (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation) since the results will be adequate and have a minimal scar in the shape of an L. If you are considering breast explantation, consultation with a plastic surgeon who is experienced in this procedure is essential to ensure optimal results. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: BII You can elect to have your implants removed at any time. Many times those with BII symptoms will notice an improvement when implants are removed, but this is not a guarantee. Without photos of your breasts without clothes it's difficult to determine if a lift would be recommended. Your board certified plastic surgeon should be able to advise you during a consultation. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Answer: BII issues Dear claire5959, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Removal An examination is needed to see if you have enough breast tissue around the areola to support a lift. If you do not, a lift cannot be done or it would destroy the blood supply to your areola. You may continue to have the flexion of your muscle when tensed, but your muscle should still function well.
