I am 5 months post op tummy tuck. Why dont I see a flat even tummy ? I feel bumps on one side more and I still have lots of swelling especially in the lower part where the incision is. My stomach looks deform. My dr said I needed to do sit ups which I have but I still dont see or feel my stomach flat
Answer: Why don't I have a flat tummy? Did you have muscle repair done with your tummy tuck? If not, that could contribute to less than optimal results. It could be residual swelling, although most patients do not experience regular swelling at five months post op. Review your before/after photos with your surgeon for further clarification of your concerns.

Answer: Why dont I have a flat tummy ? Do I need a second tt? Thanks for your question. It is hard to advice you without doing an in person examination. Best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look.Healing after a tummy tuck is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Answer: Tummy tuck results Dear SapphireU, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Your photos show a good result and I would wager if they were side by side to what you started with, your outcome is near exceptional. No ethical surgeon will tell patients that they will be flat as a board... as most will say improvements will be achieved but getting absolute flat is not realistic. If you have some thicker areas, office liposuction can benefit you. If you have loose skin that can be pinched together when standing, that could also be excised for a little tighter look. But the gains from your current look would be on the minimal side. Sit ups can help improve outcomes but revisions should be considered if it truly will make a difference... and only a face to face exam can determine that.
