Can I get chin liposuction after I have received 2 treatment sessions of Kybella?

Yes, you can certainly undergo liposuction despite having Kybellla. Depending on the amount of laxity you are experiencing under the chin, #liposuction may certainly outlast non-surgical attempts. However, you need to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn if you are an ideal #candidate. If so, you will learn which liposuction #technique may be best, as well when to schedule the treatment  based on your last Kybella session. There may be additional options to improve the appearance of your concern to improve the overall balance of your face. Such can be best evaluated in-person. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in #face, #neck and #chin procedures is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible.

Yes, you can have chin liposuction after Kybella.  Sometimes the lumpy areas are hard to fix with traditional liposuction, but newer modalities that combine lipo with an energy source do better.  My favorite is a device called FaceTite by Inmode.  It works great and can also help tighten your loose skin.  But, if your skin is too loose, then you would need a necklift too.  Sorry about the Kybella.  But now make sure you get it fixed by someone who specializes in these procedures so you have the best chance for improvement. best of luck!

Yes, you can do chin/neck liposuction after Kybella.  Adding an energy source such as laser or ultrasound will help break up any scar tissue left over from the Kybella.

Dear Pacee1,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

I personally prefer chin liposuction to kybella, I think the results are more predictable and the recovery time is minimal. You need a formal consultation with a surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience/outcome with Kybella.  You can do liposuction after Kybella, but some of the concerns you described may be hard to fix with liposuction alone versus the need for a more formal neck lift.  It would be difficult to address without a consultation.  The lumpy, bumpy appearance of Kybella is not common and could be technique dependent  I would visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who is also an experienced Kybella injector.  

 There may be extensive fibrosis in the neck after two sessions of Kybella, therefore  a surgical neck lift would probably be required in order to visualize what is going on inside the neck. Open Liposuction through an incision in the neck can accomplish removal of the fatty deposits above the muscle,  And lift surgery is required to remove the fatty deposits below because the muscle.  A platysma plasty is  performed  to increase the jawline. No skin removal is necessary with the neck lift in our practice. If there is loose and inelastic skin present in the neck, a lower face and neck lift is required.

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using liposuction, dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin, lips) and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  What you describe are some of the possible side effects of using injections or non surgical methods to reduce fat.  No matter the "hype" around these procedures, they simply can not provide the same reliability and predictability of fat removal that liposuction provides when properly performed.  Honestly, I've always felt that these procedures were costly, time consuming and far less reliable than a liposuction of the neck that can be done in 15 minutes using a local anesthetic.
 The good news is that liposuction may be able to reduce some of the lumps and bumps if they are residual fat and not scar tissue from inflammation (the material injected creates inflammation when dissolving the fat).  The bad news is that some form of skin removal might be required.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation.  At 7 months post treatment, massage is unlikely to create any change in my humble opinion.
