Is it okay for me to get a tattoo before my BA?

It would be smart to wait until after your surgery to get the tattoo. So close to your surgery, if the tattoo area gets infected, your surgery would be postponed.

Better not risk it. If you develop an infection, your surgery may have to be postponed. Even though it’s far from your chest area, it’s still a risk.

They risk of getting a tattoo just before surgery is that one could get an infection from the tattoo. If one has an infection on the body of the time of surgery, it is possible for this to increase the risk of an infected breast implant. This is very uncommon but a very serious complication. It would be wise to avoid and elective procedure such as a tattoo just before breast augmentation surgery.

It should be safe to get a tattoo then wait a full month for your breast augmentation.Please discuss with your plastic surgeon for his blessings and viewpoint.

It is safer to wait a few months after breast augmentation to get a tattoo. Getting one three weeks before could cause issues with infection, but that risk is small.

Hello and thank you for your question. It is best to talk and discuss this with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon his/her opinion.
