im not understanding why some people start sweating 100% again after some time after a Miradry treatment. If the sweat glands are supposedly permanently eliminated and don't regenerate as all the surgeons are claiming here; Why the return of sweat? Or are the glands only being "stunned" for a period of time to make patients "believe" that they're actually cured but then have to return for more treatments and spend even more money making facilities rich and the sufferers poorer??
Answer: Still sweating? Thanks for your question. The sweat glands in the underarm account for 2% of the total glands in the body. The MiraDry permanently eradicates the sweat glands. One treatment kills 75 to 82% percent of the sweat glands in the armpit. A iodine-starch test can show if any glands remain alive. The scenario you're describing occurs mostly because people still have 98% of their sweat glands. The sweat from the head and neck and breasts is the most likely cause of sweat moving towards the armpit. I hope this helps. Dr. ALDO

Answer: Sweating returns after Miradry It may not be accurate to say that some patients have sweating return 100% after treatment. When a starch iodine test is performed, it becomes clear that there are distinct areas of dryness and of perspiration. What some people perceive as 100% return, may not be accurate. Some patients, especially true hyperhidrosis patients, will likely require more than one treatment. A small percentage of treated patients may still experience sweating after 2 treatments because their sweat producing glands simply lie outside of the treatment depth. Hopefully in the near future a new advancement in treatment protocol will make it possible for even these patients to have significant reduction.

Answer: MiraDry at Center for Excessive Sweating in Williamsville, NY - A Platinum Level Provider Thank you for your Q.In our practice, 86% of our patients require only a SINGLE miraDry procedure over an aggregate of patients followed closely from 2014 and 2015.In 2015, none of our patients required a second miraDry procedure. We always use Level 5 and we do a very thorough procedure, going over the areas TWICE. Some providers who are less experienced use Level 3 and therefore do the recommended 2 or more procedures.Having said this, there will be some patients who may require a 2nd or 3rd procedure because the amount of hyperhidrosis is so severe.I have been doing miraDry since 2011 and I believe that this is the best technique for hyperhidrosis treatment short of repeated Botox injections.I have written a book about miraDry. You can access it on the link below. The procedure is operator dependent and experience is very very important in obtaining great outcomes. We charge 1500 for our procedures and you are welcome to come to our center for another round. In regards to your question as to why it recurs ... it is not known other than my professional opinion that if the glands are properly destroyed, they are not likely to function. We are a Platinum Plus Provider for miraDry.Dr Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
