Where's the long term effect reviews of Miradry? I'm already concerned that it won't work and these treatments are not cheap.

I had my first go with MD yesterday & I'm a little concerned that I can't find any long term patient reviews? (5-10 yrs down the rd) I'm getting worried because I'm seeing all these reviews about sweat returning 100%, cancer risks etc. which is making me VERY concerned now I've had the treatment done at level 5. I found this article as well that hasn't helped with the paranoia that I'm feeling.

MiraDry technology has been around 4 years so you're not going to find reviews past 4 years, is my guess. I think you need to talk to your treating physician about your anxiety and even consider seeing a psychiatrist if a non-invasive procedure is making you this concerned. All procedures have risks, but there's no association with cancer development and MiraDry.Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!Dr. Aldo

Hi and thank you for your question! Thus far, our patients who have had the procedure over the last four years (since we have had the machine) have not reported that the sweating or odor has returned. Some patients get to their ideal result after one treatment, most after two, and rarely some require three. Once they have reached their maximum result, which is typically 75-90% reduction in sweating and odor, they don't see a reversal in this result. You are not finding many long term reviews since it has only been FDA approved in the US since 2011, but thus far we have not read any report of these concerns. I have had the procedure and can't imagine ever going back to sweating and having odor again and I love not having to wear deodorant! Best, Dr. Grant Stevens

Thank you for your important question.You can't have log term results when most practitioners in the U.S. just started doing this procedure.We know it works in our practice because we don't see our patients returning for other procedures.We have been doing miraDry since May 2012. Since we are the only practice foe a large territory, they would return for other services like Botox, etc.The company should fund long term outcome studies and they should develop a national REGISTRY for those that have this procedure. YOU ARE CORRECT.In our practice, a thorough procedure at Level 5 gives excellent outcomes - 86% of our patients in a 2 year aggregate review (2014 and 2015) required only a SINGLE procedure, costing only $1500.In 2015, none of our patients required a second procedure. Dr Karamanoukian
