Will Xeomin cause frontal hair loss like Botox and Dysport?

Question

Any other options for deep forehead wrinkles? I have been getting dysport treatments on my forehead for about 18 months. Always fairly modest treatments because I have naturally hooded eyelids to begin with. I have experienced SIGNIFICANT hair loss and receding, hairline due to the dysport/Botox. Please don’t reply that it is not the Botox because there is medical evidence to support this. It is called botulism induced frontal alopecia. My question is, will xeomin likely have the same effect on me? Are there any other options? Please help

Hello tina501! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. I am so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately, I have not heard of neuromodulators causing alopecia. However, based on your experiences with Botox and Dysport causing significant hair loss, I would expect similar results from Xeomin. I recommend considering other injectables such as PRP or try a CO2 laser treatment such as Coolpeel. I hope this helps!

While I have not heard to neuromodulators causing alopecia (in fact they are used extensively for migraines injecting all areas of the scalp) I feel Xeomin would cause the same issues you’re describing with Botox and Dysport

Get a hair transplant then you can do any neurotoxin you want .. xeomin  has less immunogenicity than the other toxins but that is all that can be said
