Hyperpigmentation around belly button after TT, is there a way to speed up the lightening process? (photos)

My belly button was reconstructed during a TT. It's not a typical TT belly button. My dr was able to save mine after a hernia repair. It's healing nicely but seems to be getting darker by the day. I saw my PS this week and he called it hyperpigmentation and said it should lighten over time. His office gave me a scar gel to use but I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do to speed up the lightening process.

After seeing your before photos  - Your results are GREAT! the hyperpigmetaion on the bb is so minor. Try lightening gels or there are lasers for this issue. ..

Protecting that area from the sun when you're outside will help.  Also, some lasers can help that pigment fade faster, though one needs to be careful lasering skin of color.

If at 6 weeks after your tummy tuck you see brownish pigmentation then you may have hyperpigmentation.  He wanted to be certain that the discoloration use he is not purplish  and due to inadequate blood supply.  Once you're confident that you have healed and have adequate blood supply to the umbilicus.  Then C brownish pigmentation IPL–Intense pulse light treatments can be very effective in removing pigmentation.
