How much can a pre-jowl chin implant help with marionette lines?

Hello. I'm 31and have developed noticeable marionette lines. I feel they're caused by these fat pouches around mouth/chin, called perioral mounds.. I was considering a prejowl chin implant as I do have a recessive chin and thought the extended wings of the implant could maybe help with the marionette lines?

It is very difficult to give you an opinion and suggestion without in person evaluation or series of photos. Small, retruded chin can definitely contribute to a formation of deep "M" lines and pre-jowl deformity. There are several options to treat this problem including chin implant, jawline-jowls liposuction and what we call "smile surgery". Only on the basis of in person consultation and discussion about your goals one can give you more detailed plan of treatment.

A prejowl implant will only help with the indentation at the very inferior portion of the marionette line along the jawline. What lies above it, which is the majority of the marionette line, must be treated by other techniques such as perioral mound liposuction or even a jowl tuckup procedure.
