Intra-oral or sub-mental removal of large Implantech chin implant after 20 years, any suggestions? (Photos)

Since your original chin implant was placed through a submental incision, I would recommend having it removed through the same approach.  If you wanted to replace the implant with a smaller size or different shaped implant, this could be done at the same time.  In my experience, the should not be an issue with the skin conforming to the new implant.  

 In our practice, we remove/replace or exchange  all chin implants through a submental approach. The intraoral approach can have a higher incidence of infection and migration of the implant itself. A smaller chin implant can be placed in the pocket where the larger implant is located to reduce the prominent masculine chin, or the implant can be simply removed.

I would remove the implant thru a sub-mental incision because i have better visualization to place and fix a new smaller implant.
