The answer is yes. I perform all isolated genioplasty procedures with twilight anesthesia in our accredited surgery center. There is no need for a deeper anesthetic which may include an inhalation gas, and a level of anesthesia that requires a longer recovery. Even with facelift surgery, we prefer local, tumescent, and intravenous anesthesia. By performing the procedure in our office under twilight anesthesia there is a diminished cost for the procedure.
