I have a very round face which I’m hoping to make slightly longer and get rid of my weak chin and chubby cheeks

You would be a good candidate for a sliding genioplasty which will move your chin forward and reshape your lower face. That may negate the need for a buccal fat pad removal. You want to consider talking to someone with enough experience in this topic.

It can be hard to determine without a face-to-face consultation, but it appears that you would possibly benefit from both of these procedures to improve the projection and contour of the jawline with a chin implant as well as possibly slimming the cheeks and improving the contour of the lower third of the face with buccal fat excision. You would be a good candidate for both chin augmentation and buccal fat removal. I would consider a sliding geniplasty instead of a chin implant because the sliding genioplasty can also lengthen the chin which an implant can not do. Bring the chin forward and down combined with the buccal lipectomies should help deround your face.

The limited photographs demonstrate a recessive chin profile for which a chin implant can improve. The size, shape, and the thickness of the implant is best determined at the time of the consultation and examination. In our practice, we place chin implants under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. General anesthesia is also an option. Best to leave the buccal fat pad alone.
