How popular are UHP implants as a percent of augmentations, and what are the determining factors for their use as apposed to HP implants. Are there additional risks, what are they, and how often do they occur? Also, are they suitable for larger implants in the 550-600cc range when there is a desire for maximum projection, but a narrow chest wall?

Answer: How popular are UHP implants I think only the breast implant manufacturers can give the percentage of ultrahigh profile implants that are used but it does not appear to be a common scenario. They would be most useful in larger volumes were a narrow base is required. They are often used also in breast reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer.

Answer: UHP implants are not used very often and are for specific cases UHP implants are usually for the very narrow chested gal who desires "LARGE ROUND" breasts. They are very round and firmer than HP implants in general. While there is a place for them in my practice I do not use them very often. I hope this helps.
