Pain in right breast 1 month post op.

Question

This morning I woke up and did my massages and I noticed that my right breast was pretty sore when I'd push them together or press around my insicion, also my ribs are sore on that side. My left breast and the top of my right breast are completely pain free. As the day went on it kept becoming more sore. And using my right arm is hard because the pain. I've been coughing and sneezing a lot and that may be why the pain is worsening. And I woke up on my side this morning.

Best advice is to notify you surgeon what you are feeling. Let them examine you and hopefully re assure you that all is well.

Hello,If you are concerned about changes in pain, I recommend that you contact your Plastic Surgeon so that they can assess and advise you. Differences between the breasts are common even a month after surgery, however sudden changes or pain increases should be investigated.All the best

Thank you for your question.  It is quite common for one breast to be more sore or sensitive than the other at one month post breast augmentation.  Should you develop a fever, increased swelling or increased pain, best to consult with your plastic surgeon.  Good luck.

Contact your surgeon and let him know what you are experiencing. Without an examination, it is hard to diagnose the cause of your discomfort and therefore, best to see your plastic surgeon for a thorough examination.

You did not ask a specific question, but I presume it was about having pain. You are still fairly early in your healing phase, and sleeping on your breast may have been too soon. I would suggest calling your surgeon and asking to be checked just to make sure everything is healing well.

Best to see your surgeon TODAY! This is not usual after 3 weeks, but only in person examination would allow a better determination if there are any issues.

Pain after breast augmentation is normal and it may take several months to completely subside. One breast commonly is more painful than the other breast. However, if this pain is of recent onset (not residual discomfort after surgery), I would recommend that you contact your surgeon and express your concern. A  short visit to the physician's office may allay your fears.
