Is it normal for my rhinoplasty nostril incision wound to be open even after stitches removal?

Hello. Great question. You are still early in your recovery process for a rhinoplasty. Your incision is still going through its healing process. Keep assisting to your follow up appointments and be patient. If you are still worrisome, don't hesitate to contact a board certified plastic surgeon for another detailed evaluation.

It is possible that movement of the lips and nose (like smiling) can separate wound after stitches are removed. This area will heal nicely without any additional scarring providing that further manipulation (on your part) do not create more separation. It is always question of balance when to remove stitches; all people may not heal exactly the same. Be patient and follow your surgeon's instructions. Good luck.

Wounds can separate even after sutures have been removed on a timely basis.  If your doctor felt that re-stitching was not indicated, then probably you had a superficial opening that should close on its own. Keep it clean and follow your doctor's instructions.
