I would not recommend Kybella for this area for a couple of reasons. First, you will need many injections and a lot of product during a single treatment, which will likely lead to significant swelling and discomfort after the procedure. Second, Kybella usually requires more than one treatment session to achieve full results, which can take many months to develop and be quite expensive. If you were my patient, I would likely recommend CoolSculpting if the area small enough to fit one of the applicators or Awake Lipo to remove the unwanted fat from this area. It can be performed using local anesthesia and the recovery time tends to be relatively short. Results will be seen soon after your treatment session with CoolSculpting and during the procedure, you simply sit while the fat is frozen. Two to three months later, approximately 30% of the fat is removed. A second, even third, treatment may be necessary, but it is easier, has less swelling and usually less expensive than Kybella. Make sure you work with an experienced, board-certified dermatologist to ensure an optimal outcome.
Thank you for your question. While there are doctors who use Kybella off-label for different procedures, I do not recommend this approach. You will likely achieve better results with a liposuction procedure. In my office, we use Awake Lipo, which is less invasive and can be performed using local anesthesia. The recovery time is typically shorter and more comfortable as well. Make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist who has extensive experience in this procedure to ensure an optimal outcome.
Kybella can be effective for small fat deposits in problematic areas like the bra fat area, lower abdomen, banana roll, and neck.
Hello there, It is very difficult to answer your question without seeing a photo. Kybella can be used on the body to destroy and decrease fat pockets. That being said, a very large amount would need to be injected, and multiple treatments would have to be done. For the amount of time and money spent, I would recommend surgical procedures instead. Liposuction/skin removal will probably give you the best result. I would recommend discussing your concerns with an experienced provider, since there are many non-invasive skin tightening and fat melting procedures that can be utilized for this area. Good luck.Sarah RN BSN
Thank you so much for your question regarding Kybella. Unfortunately it is difficult to properly assess and know the correct dosage without an in person consultation. However, this area typically has a substantial amount of fat and would require a lot of product. Depending on the amount, Kybella MAY be a possible option, but liposuction is probably the best option for this area. Also keep in mind Kybella typically takes 2-4 treatments to achieve the best results. I also recommend seeing a Board Certified provider, to determine the best treatment for you. I hope this helps.
There are quite a few options, Kybella being one of them. It might now be the most efficient or cost effective. Others might also include Coolsculpting, a small amount of liposuction, or scar revision.
it is indeed off label. I also don't think that it's a very wise method for removing fat. This is a slamdunk for liposuction if the area is truly based on excessive fat. Most of the time the fullness you describe is caused by skin laxity or scar tissue that's contracted just below the area of fullness. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Hello Kybella is a fat dissolving acid that is injected in the area to get rid of that stubborn double chin. We have seen great results on patients after 2-3 treatments. There is no downtime and the results show fairly quick.Best of lucks!
Hello and thank you for your question. Buccal fat removal is unlikely to correct jowls as it is involving the lower face. In addition Kybella is not indicated for the jowls and also will unlikely correct this area as the problems is related to excess and lax skin....
Very good question. Kybella has only been approved by the FDA to treat submental fat (fat underneath the chin) at this time. While studies are underway on Kybella’s effect on other areas, it is not recommended for treatment outside its approved area. For fat reduction on other areas, I offer b...
