In my opinion, you most likely need a different filler that can be placed more superficially into the wrinkle of your smile line.  Radiesse needs to be injected deeper than the surface of the wrinkle and this is why you are not seeing much change after your Radiesse treatment.  Fillers that could be injected superficially would include Belotero and Restylane Silk.

Hello and thank you for your question. You might consider talking to your injector about using another type a filler in the hyaluronic acid class that can be injected in a more superficial plane to treat those stubborn lines.

I recommend that you get Sculptra injected a it will augment the results of the HA filler Restylane and Radiesse.As well, consider laser resurfacing in order to improve the finely etched skin in your smile lines before they get worse. There should be little or no downtime with the new technology.As well, I recommend microneedling with PRP to reduce the static wrinkling in this area.Seek someone who utilizes all of these techniques to rejuvenate your face.Dr Karamanoukian

Treating the 'depressions' around the naso-labial fold and trying to correct the more superficial 'lines' in this area can require different correction techniques. Just confirm that eliminating the lines is what he is trying to do. Sometimes the issue is just very stubborn lines that just don't seem to respond to anything. Other times it may be due to subtle differences in injection technique or the selection of fillers.
