Forehead reduction or something else? (Photo)

Question

The size of my forehead is not proportionate to my face and makes me feel insecure. I'm wondering if lowering a few cm would help restore more balance. My only fear is a super noticeable scar line post-surgery or just a generally odd/fake looking hairline. Is it too invasive or a surgery, do I have other, less potentially threatening options ?

Hello,
Based on your photos I think you would be a good candidate for hairline advancement.  The incision within the frontal part of the hairline is performed in a way that allows hairs to grow out in front of the scar as things heal.  In younger people this usually happens within the first few months.  Rarely over the years we have performed secondary hair transplantation to camouflage the scar if it does not heal well.  This has typically been in older patients. Best of luck to you.

A reduction of the forehead height can be achieved by removing a strip of skin (up to 3 cm) along the hairline. Incision is placed along the hairline in zig-zag fashion and, in people with your skin type, will be barely noticeable when scar matures. Hairline advancement is often done in conjunction with forehead contouring where we adjust the shape of the forehead to a softer and more feminine position.  In the photo with redder hair (lying down), your hairline does not look high.  In the other you are raising your eyebrows very much and it is hard to assess.
