Fluffing means when your breasts gradually take on a more natural contour, where the lower breasts become softer and rounder. This is possible with gravity and natural tissue expansion.
"Fluffing" is a term often used in the context of breast augmentation to describe the process where breast implants settle into a more natural position and shape within the chest after surgery. Here's a breakdown of the process:• Dropping: Right after surgery, breast implants may sit higher on the chest and appear firm or swollen. Over time, the muscles and tissues around the implants relax, allowing the implants to "drop" into a lower, more natural position.• Fluffing: As the implants drop, they also begin to "fluff," meaning the lower part of the breast starts to round out, creating a softer and more natural-looking shape. This happens as the tissue stretches and accommodates the implants more comfortably.Does the cup size change?• Cup Size: Typically, the cup size doesn't significantly change during the drop and fluff process. The implants themselves remain the same size, but the way they sit and how the tissue around them relaxes can make the breasts appear fuller and more rounded. This can give the illusion of a slight size increase, but it's usually more about the shape and projection of the breasts rather than an actual change in size. So, the primary change during the drop and fluff process is in the shape and appearance of the breasts, not necessarily the cup size.
Thanks for your question. While I have never heard the term "fluff"with respect to breast augmentation, the implants do appear to "drop"after surgery. The reality is that they are not moving. Your body isaccommodating the implant while the muscle relaxes and the skin stretches.Essentially there was no room for the implant when it was inserted, and yourbody is now allowing the implant to help contour the breasts. During this time, you lose fullness at the top of the breasts (the upper pole), and the bottom ofthe implant becomes more round. This is a normal process, but be sure toconsult your surgeon if you have concerns. Good luck!
I do think implants do "settle and soften" which is what it appears you mean by "drop and fluff". This is related to the swelling of the pectoralis muscle and tightness of the skin envelope which resolves over a few weeks. The natural look of the implants takes several weeks and the soft feel may take a few months as the post operative healing takes time.
Breast implant surgery causes a lot of swelling that takes months to resolve. As the swelling resolves, it appears that the implants "drop", but they really don't drop, it is just the resolution of the swelling. I am not familiar with the term "fluffing" as it relates to implant surgery.
I have never heard of this term with respect to breast surgery. This could be slang for the dropping and rounding out implants do about 2 weeks postoperatively.
Fluffing is a new term to me and I have been in practice over 25 years. That said Submuscular implants do "drop" following surgery. If there is any cup size change it is probably more due to lose of swelling then dropping
