What type of Liposuction would be best for me? (photos)

Question

I’m 35. No kids. 5’2 and around 120 pounds. I am looking into getting lipo. I just realized there are different types of lipo. Reg lipo, 360 lipo, Vaser. I work out at 3-5 times a week. For the life of me I can not get where I want. I would like all the fat in my stomach and sides sucked out. I would like abs and to be sculpted slimmed shape. What type of lipo would be best for me?

Thank you for your photos and questions. All the monikers for lipo can get confusing and beware because a lot of it is just marketing. I think you would be a good candidate for SAFE liposuction using traditional suction technique. This allows for smoothing and shaping of the treated areas which can prevent contour deformities which can be common in petite patients such as yourself. Make sure you are seeing a local plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and do not be fooled by other “board certifications.”

Hi @sunnyflgirl Thank you for your question. There are different ways to perform liposuction. Vaser liposuction has to do with technology, it uses a technology that reduces trauma to the body and therefore the healing process is better, if the specialist knows how to use this technology. The lipo 360 is a liposculpture, the body is molded by removing fat from different areas of the body and the most recommended for a harmonious body where the results are long lasting. In your case, to achieve the look you want, a consultation is necessary to determine if a tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck is necessary to improve the abdominal area by tightening the abdomen and removing some excess skin. Thank you for your question regarding what type of liposuction is right for you. Considering the fact that you want muscle definition, I would strongly suggest VASER liposuction. During VASER liposuction, the fat is melted, the muscles are sculpted, and the skin is heated to shrink-wrap around the muscle. Therefore, the fat is melted with heat and exposes the underlying muscles. Normal liposuction does not get nearly as effective results as the VASER in terms of muscle definition or in my opinion, overall results. Therefore, since you are seeking muscle definition, I would highly recommend VASER liposuction. You also mentioned 360 liposuction. 360 liposuction is just a term to describe lliposuction of the abdomen, hips, and lower back. It is sometimes also used to describe liposuction of the entire body. Unfortunately, 360 liposuction is a very vague term. I hope this helps to answer your question regarding whether you should undergo VASER or normal liposuction.
VASER hi def abdominal sculpting or etching is a technically difficult procedure. Your plastic surgeon must know his abdominal wall anatomy. When seeking revision VASER hi def abdominal etching, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the VASER hi def procedure. Not all plastic surgeons own a VASER machine and most plastic surgeons do not perform the VASER hi def procedure. Do your research. Make sure your selected plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 VASER hi def abdominal etching surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. I understand that this can get confusing about different techniques, but to add more confusion, there are different types of surgeons and non- surgeons with different levels of skill sets in the ability to reshape or sculpt the body. As a Total Definer board certified plastic surgeon, use the VASER Hi Def Lipo 360 degrees technique. Spot liposuction will leave you with spotty unnatural results. You start out with a good bony and muscle anatomy and you will get a great results in the right hands.

When it comes to abdominal sculpting- VASER lipo is always the answer. 360 lipo will help remove adiposity (or fat) from all aspects of your body. In other words, the lipo procedure will remove fat from both your front (abdomen) and back. This includes your flanks and love handles. What this allows for is to circumferentially debulk and allow for symmetric body contouring. VASER will allow for the vertical muscle definition to emerge through maximal fat removal.
