Obvious scars around ears 9 months post op FL + NL (Photo)

I would allow another 3-6 months before making any decisions.  Scars take at least a full year to mature and these may improve with time.  Keep in touch with your surgeon so they can evaluate your progress and make suggestions as needed.

Thank you for your picture. I think your facelift incision is well healed. If you hadn't noticed it and only your hairdresser at close range then it is more than acceptable. Healed incisions will continue to improve with time. The only recommendation I would suggest would be a good sunscreen for overall protection of your skin and specifically your healed incisions.  Best wishes

Your photo seems to reveals some relatively flat hypopigmented  ( read white ) scars around your ear following a facelift about 9 months ago.  Your 4 best options to deal with this  are:do nothinguse make-up as neededtattoo the scars closer to your adjacent skin colourre-excise these scars as a scar revision and hope that the involved areas will heal better with no hypo-pigmentationTalk to your board certified facial plastic surgeon, who no doubt has vast experience dealing with facelift issues-and he or she will help you choose the best option !!  Good luck to you !!

Thank you for your question and pictures.  It appears your scar have widened and whitened.  There is not really any scar cream which will help, they are more for raised scars.  Medical Tattooing would be a good option for the scar to blend more.  Alternatively, you can leave them, if you have never noticed them, I am sure other people haven't.  It would only be your hairdresser which would be looking closely in this area.  All The Best 

Your incision have a widened and whitened scar. They look flat. with this type of scar there really isn’t much you yourself can do. Scar massage and scar creams will not improve. Additionally steroid injections or lasers will not either as those are reserved for raised scars. Your options are: 1. leaving it alone off it doesn’t bother you too much and most people will probably not notice. 2. Medical tattoo to color match the skin. 3. Scar revision where the white portion is Excised. Speak with you’re surgeon about your concerns. 

The scars in your photos are most noticible due to the decrease in pigmentation relative to the surrounding skin. The best solution to this problem would involve a scar revision, however cosmetic tattoing could provide a reasonable coverup. Microneedling would be of little benefit, however.

I agree that the scars a visible. They are flat and white but unfortunately wider than they could be around the earlobe and at the top of the ear where the hairline starts. The scar got obviously stretched over the last months. Please have in mind that me as a a plastic surgeon I am used to look for these signs of a facelift and of course I know where such scars come from. Also your hairdresser gets so close to your ears and can inspect them like nobody else. He has seen this many times and of course knows where they come from. Other people won't realise and with wearing your hair down it is not easily visible. But if you like to wear your hear in a ponytail the scars become more visible. If this bothers you and you start becoming insecure about it you should undergo a scar correction which can be performed under local anaesthesia. It takes 15-20 minutes to remove the scar tissue and adapt the fresh wound edges tension-free. I am confident your new scar will be a fine white line which is hard to spot- even for a nosy hairdresser. Think about it!

   Thank you for your question. While I wouldn’t say these scars are terrible by any means they are still visible. I do think you would benefit from CO2 laser resurfacing of these scars to help further blend them in. They do look hypopigmented in the pictures. If that is the case this is hard to adress surgically and you may benefit more from a medical tattoo artist. Hope that helps!

You can try any external therapies like micro needling but the result from a facelift are just like you demonstrate in the photo. Which BTW are very acceptable!
