Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without pictures it is difficult to offer definite advice as you may be experiencing normal healing with scar maturation that takes months or you may have a suture related reaction that needs to be seen by your surgeon. If you are seeing little improvement discuss this with your surgeon, they are your best source of advice.
here is a predictable pattern to the swelling after surgery. The swelling increases for the first 3 days and then begins to decrease. The swelling in the incision has mostly improved in the first 3 months, but takes a year to see the final result. I usually recommend massage of the incision beginning 3 weeks after surgery.
Swelling after breast surgery is normal and can persist for weeks to months after the procedure. Most of the swelling will resolve in 6 to 8 weeks, with some persisting for up to 6 months. Nonetheless, to ensure healing is progressing normally, I would recommend you follow up closely with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
HelloThe inflammation process can last from 6 months to 1 year, each patient has an individual recovery process. To make an opinion specific on your case I would have to see some pictures first so I recommend to consult your doctor with this concern you have. Good luck.Regards Dr. Israel Mañon Certified Plastic Surgeon
Typically, there is a many month period where the perceived "thickness" of the tissues in the incision area is more pronounced and the area feels more firm and may even be more sensitive. This continues to improve for over a year. Be patient. If the actual scar itself is red, firm, raised that is different and you would need to see your surgeon for advice.
Thanks for your question. Generally, within a few weeks the BA incision looks pretty smooth. You may want to have your surgeon take a look for you. There may be some scar care and massage he/she might have you do to help it heal. Best wishes.
Thank you for you question. I tell my patients to expect swelling for six weeks postoperatively. It is not unusual for some patients to take longer than that. This swelling occurs in the breast as well as the incision. It is encouraging that your swelling is improving. As long as the incision is healing well, the swelling should completely resolve. Make sure to follow-up frequently with your operating surgeon until everything has healed well. Best of luck.

To answer your question about 400cc vs 550 cc, you need to take into account what's known as your base width diameter. Imagine lying on your back and drawing a circle around your breast. If you were to draw a line across that circle, it will be a given length. Your plastic surgeon will measure ...
