Im 11 weeks post op from a breast aug & lift 400CC’s Moderate Profile. My breasts aren’t looking as round & full as I would like. Is there still more dropping & fluffing to do? From my areolas on down I feel like there isn’t much fullness as there is on the top of my breasts. I’m hoping the more natural teardrop shape will develop & my breast will perk up but then I worry I may end up too flat on top cuz I didn’t go big. Am I overreacting? Thanks in advance..
Answer: Will my implants continue to drop and my breasts fluff to look more round, perky and full? I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast augmentation surgery; I do not think that you are "overreacting". Your plastic surgeon will be best resource when it comes to accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, there are many variables when it comes to the final appearance of breasts after breast augmentation/lifting surgery. The main variables, in my opinion are your anatomic starting point, exactly how/where the breast implant pockets were dissected, the size/profile of breast implants utilized, and the "artistry" of the breast lifting performed. Again, for this reason, your plastic surgeon will be your best resource. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. As the breast implants "settle", the lower breast poles will round out (generally improving shape), and the nipple/areola complexes will seem to sit higher on each breast mound. In other words, time and patience may be your best friends here. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Breast Dear Alyssa, Your implants will likely settle some more and give you some more fullness in the lower part of your breast (and less in the upper part), and the areola may shift slightly upwards as this happens. They will definitely look more natural over time. Hope this helps and good luck!

Answer: Breast Tissue and Implant Settling Thank you for your question. First off, you look great. Depending on the size of the implants, and as they continue to settle, you may round out a bit - in a surgery where the breast tissue is moved and an implant is placed, it can really take about 6 months for things to settle out completely. Your scars look good too, and as hard as it is, I would just give it a little more time - but, overall, you look very good.

Answer: Will my implants continue to drop and my breasts fluff to look more round, perky and full? (Photos) Thank you for your question. Based on your photos and the timing I do think that your implants will drop more as the tissues relax. You are about 3 months from surgery and I find that the implants can settle up to 6-8 months. I don't think they will go down a lot more though. Otherwise they are quite symmetrical. Dave Williamson MD
