You’re probably not a bad candidate for a BBL. You’re young, you have tight skin and enough subcutaneous fat to get improvements from liposuction and fat transfer. To make an accurate assessment we need quality pictures. Take a look at how plastic surgeons take before and after pictures to get an idea. Use the timer on your camera or have someone else take the pictures. We need pictures of you standing in a neutral position, showing your front, side, and rearview from your shoulders to just below your knees. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people realize. Finding somebody who has mastered this procedure can be a bit challenging. I suggest patient start the process by having multiple in person, consultations with plastic surgeons and their community who seem to have a strong track record for this procedure. Bring pictures of your own body to use as a reference during the consultation. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who had similar body characteristics to your own. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of a provider career may be insufficient. An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you a large collection of before and after pictures. For commonly performed procedures, I would say they should easily be able to show you 50 cases. There is substantial difference in skill, experience, and approach to this procedure, depending who you choose. Considering you’ll be reminded of the outcome every day for the rest of your life, and that these outcomes are permanent, I think, having fiber more consultations seems appropriate before selecting a provider. In regards to candidacy you appear to be fairly ideal. Best, Matt Hagstrom, MD
