Can flank lipo solve my hip dips? (photos)

Question

I am happy with my overall size, however in would like to get rid of my "hip dips". Can I only get lipo to my flanks and stomach to solve the problem or is a bbl necessary? I don't want my proportions more exaggerated than they are or a bigger butt; I just want a more hourglass curve. I would like to avoid fat graphing and the not-being-able-to-sit-for-6-weeks, if possible. Hi there, thank you for your question. You can solve this situation with liposuction on flanks, tummy and fat transfer to only hip dips. In this case, you do not need to have BBL and you can sit confidently.

In this regard, I recommend you waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour.

Finally, I suggested take the fat we get and transfer to the buttocks and hips, to mold them and get better volume, contour and butt projection, is that we know as "Brazilian Butt Lift" (BBL).

you will do great with liposuction and fat grafting to the hip dip. if you have loose skin however, you may need a tummy tuck and/or internal heating (j plasma).

my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring).

the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after).

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

Expert traditional liposuction of your abdomen and flanks should contour these regions nicely and allow you to achieve your goals. based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Based on your photos you are a good candidate for liposuction to your belly, flanks, and back. This will help accentuate your curves and give you more of that hourglass shape you desire. However, in order to improve the hip dips, I would recommend fat transfer to the areas to build up the contour and give you a nice shape overall. You do not need a BBL and you should be able to sit down after the procedure.

Fat transfer is a very powerful technique and can be used to target specific areas that require increased volume and shaping. It is not an “all or nothing” type of procedure. So don’t be worried about having to get a bigger butt in order to fix the hip dips. A well-trained plastic surgeon that routinely performs liposuction and fat grafting can help contour your hip dips and body to get you your desired results.

Liposuction of your love handles will help feminize your curves very nicely. The problem with spot treating the torso is that taking the fat affectively out of your love handles now makes an awkward transition to the front of your abdomen your waist and eventually your back.

For this reason I typically treat the entire torso as a single anatomic unit and do not offer a spot treatment of just the problem area.

Adding fat transfer emphasizing exclusively on your hip dip area will help hyper feminize further.

Different plastic surgeons have different postoperative protocols. Most plastic surgeons allow their patients to sit anytime after fat transfer we simply ask patients to use a BBL pillow.

In our practice patients can go on to unlimited activity at three weeks.

Using the BBL pillow does not seem to be a big hindrance for most patients.
