I want to get a tummy tuck and breast lift, have a prolapse of the mitral valve, and during my c section my blood pressure went down due to the anesthesia, they said I almost had heart failure, is it possible that I could get plastic surgery?

Answer: Mitral valve prolapse and tummy tuck Dear lizette1228,as long as you get a clearance from your cardiologist, you should be able to get a tummy tuck surgery. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Cardiac evaluation Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I would advise obtaining medical clearance from your cardiologist and primary physician prior to undergoing surgery. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
