My waist is very asymmetrical. Is there a way I can fix this superficially with an implant or rib removal or injection of some kind? I just want it to look more balanced. I know it cannot be perfectly symmetrical, but any improvement would be so much better than how it looks now. Note that this is from scoliosis. My doctors did not recommend having rods inserted, so I'm looking for a more superficial way to correct the waist asymmetry.
Answer: Is there a way I can fix my asymmetrical waist from scoliosis? Hello. Great question. However, images and/or a personal examination is needed to properly address your concerns. Some asymmetry may be improved. Please visit a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed surgical plan to achieve your desired results.

Answer: Waist asymmetry Dear victoria2222, Your waist asymmetry is caused by scoliosis so only surgeries which will fix scoliosis will permanently treat this. Your Cobb's angle is probably not that high, so that scoliosis surgery is not indicated. It is hard to tell for sure, but this might be improved with fat transfer. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Waist after Scoliosis Yes, absolutely. Based on your photo, you are an excellent candidate for high definition VASER liposuction to help camouflage the scoliosis. The Gold Standard for superior liposuction results requires use of the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I perform full body liposuction cases every week. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently resulted in outstanding liposuction outcomes. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of degree of excess fat by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. If skin redundancy is observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Mild asymmetry due to scoliosis The primary problem is skeletal. Soft tissue manipulation’s and treating your very mild asymmetry will lead to unnatural soft tissue asymmetry’s that are undesirable.your level of asymmetry is not much more than the average person. Our bodies are not symmetrical. Faces are not symmetrical the body is not symmetrical the extremities are not symmetrical.in extreme cases it may be warranted to surgically correct asymmetry but in your case you will be disappointed and feel disfigured with any such attempt.having a fat layer that’s substantially thinner on one side will not look good.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
