Can you get fat transfer to butt/Hips if you had (illegal) (not implants) loose silicon injected years ago?

I had *apparently* medical grade silicon (illegally) injected into my butt about 2 years ago. It hasn’t given me any problems. It also wasn’t much just 1 time a few syringes in each cheek. My question is can I still get (some) fat transfer to my cheeks and hips, will I die? What can happen? Thank you so much

Thank you for your question. Yes you can still have fat transfer to the buttock. The additional risk is that any contamination (infection) would be extremely difficult to treat if reaches the silicon. Make sure you chose an experienced surgeon.

IF it has been a few years, and you have had no issues with the injected silicone, then addition of fat is possible.  I have done it a few times in this scenario.  I would recommend to be evaluated by a plastic surgeon in your area.  But it is possible.

Even though you had silicone liquid injections into your buttock, it is still possible to have fat transfer. However, due to the silicone present, the survival of the fat is now likely to be even less than before (i.e. not a lot of “bang for your buck”).  All the inherent risks of fat transfer to the buttock still exist including the relatively high rate of death (~1 per 3000 patients).  Long story short, buttock implants are a much more reliable, predictable and permanent option. Hello dear!
Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
You will probably need too sessions, one to remove the silicone and another to transfer the fat, divided by, at least, three months.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.
