Hello, thank you for your question. miraDry is a very safe procedure allowing clients to see great results without damage to vessels, nerves, or lymph nodes in the treatment area. You may experience swelling or bruising post treatment, but these are not enlarged/swollen lymph nodes. Axillary lymph nodes on average are located 3-6cm below the skin whereas our sweat glands can be found as close as 2-5mm below the skin. The energy that is being used during miraDry should be targeting the sweat glands superficially (much closer to the surface of the skin than lymph nodes). It is important to use ice packs and Tylenol post-treatment to mitigate swelling and discomfort. If you are experiencing issues post treatment it is suggested to reach out directly to your provider. All the best!
Hi carols3tjcThere will be swelling and you should ice the areas for 24 hours. The swelling shouldn’t prevent you from doing daily activities after the first day. For more information about this procedure, please visit our website.
Hi, thank you for your question! When Miradry is performed correctly by a trained professional there should not be lymph node damage or swelling. After the procedure there will be transient swelling to the armpit area. I have not seen lymph node damage or permanent swelling throughout my practice after Miradry. There is always potential for side affects after receiving treatment.
Thanks for your question. If you are having difficulty after your treatment, I recommend returning to your treating physician and having them do a thorough exam. If MiraDry is done the way it is intended, within the company guidelines, it should not affect the lymph nodes at all. The skin is puffed up with a fairly large amount of very dilute anesthetic mixed with sterile water, and the energy from the device stops at the superficial sweat glands and hair follicles, far above the underlying structures such as nerves and lymph nodes. We have not seen any cases of lymph node effects in our area. MiraDry is a fully FDA approved procedure for excessive sweating, odor and hair, and has a wonderful safety record. There is swelling and lumpiness under the arms for months sometimes, but this is not truly swollen lymph nodes and it does abate after some time. Best of luck!
