Muscle implant separation - can this be easily fixed with revision? (Photo)

Question

With the slightest flecks of the pectoral muscles, the muscle and implant separates on both breasts but especially on one of them. Is this normal? Can it be easily fixed with revision? I have had no prior procedures or surgeries of any kind.

I understand your concern. Based on your description and images it looks like dynamic breast deformity. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Yes, this can be significant improved with use of Galaflex. I would find a surgeon with extensive experience in complex revisionary breast surgeon. Of course, this should also be a plastic surgeon that is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

The bottom line is your implants are just too large for you anatomy, and they have dropped far below your native inframammary fold. It can be fixed but you'll have to reduce the implant size or your nipples will be pointing south after the repair.

Your pectoralis major muscle is compressing your implants and extruding them inferiorly and laterally. I recommend implant exchange with much smaller implants and possible pocket change to in front of the muscle. You may also need a breast lift.

This will be difficult to fix since your large implants have stretched and thinned your breast tissue. If you go down in size and do a lift, place the implants in front of the muscle, and use mesh, you might get some improvement.  However, the implant edge will be more noticeable. Plus, you might be too thin for a lift if there is not much breast tissue behind the muscle. If you have donor fat, that could be added to that area for some coverage.  No, this is not easily fixable because of the size of implants you have.

Most likely, your pectoralis muscle was transacted to high.
I generally tried to keep as much of the pectoralis muscle covering the implant as possible.
The implant selection is also much too big, and your implants have bottomed out due to how the procedure was performed and the choice of implants.
This situation is going to be difficult to improve on.
There are generally three variables that determine breast augmentation outcomes.
The first is the patient candidacy for the procedure. The second is the choice of implants in regards to size shape, and type.
The third is the surgeons ability to place the implant in the correct anatomic location.
We can’t have a good understanding of your candidacy for the procedure without seeing before pictures.
Both implant selection and how your procedure was performed are both contributing to your outcome, including the current problems that you are seeing.
