Factor XII and need revisions after mommy make over

Question

Hello! I had a mommy make over 2.5 years ago and unfortunately my tummy scar is too high and goes vertically about an inch. Need more lipo in stomach area as well. Right flank was over lipoed so I have a clear line across my back. This result has left me super devastated. I moved to a different state, do not want to the original surgeon as they said they did the best they could. I recently found out I have Factor XII blood clotting disorder. I have a medical clearance so where can I get fixed?

A board certified plastic surgeon should be able to give you some options to correct this problem safely. Many procedures can be performed with Lovenox, an injectable blood thinner. Keep in mind that many postoperative issues can be improved, but full correction may not be possible. I would keep an open mind to any surgical options that may be available. `

I'm sorry to hear that. You've had such difficulty with your mommy makeover. It certainly possible that your incision can be improved and more Lipo can be accomplished. A picture would make it easier to give a little better opinion about that possibility. The factor 12 deficiency does increase the complexity of your procedure. Hematology will have to be involved in recommending how to manage that deficiency before surgery during surgery and after surgery to ensure the safest outcome possible.

Revisions can be done under local anesthesia. If you have medical clearance then you should not have a problem finding a surgeon who will perform the revision. You can also have the revision and liposuction done under general anesthesia as well.

This is an issue that has to be cleared with your hematology and a surgeon before surgery. Although clinically Factor XII may not create a bleeding issue after surgery, there is a chance of DVT or similar episodes although very rarely. This needs to be cleared with your surgeon. Good luck.

Unfortunately the scar cannot be brought down easily and since there are no pictures, it's hard to see what the problems is. There is no information on your BMI or weight either. You need to find a board certified experienced plastic surgeon in your new area and have a thorough evaluation.

Hello, sorry to hear you are not happy with your past surgery results.  Your best option would be to meet with a board certified surgeon that you feel comfortable with and the surgeon is comfortable with your condition.
