5 months post- op- Facelift/necklift. I was left with lumps and bumps in neck. How can this scar tissue be fixed? (Photos)

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Hi! Lumps and bumps after neck lift are usual. It is also possible that these lumps are swollen lymph nodes that developed due to infection or during the healing stage. However, I would suggest that you take a second opinion from an experienced and board-certified surgeon to get more information and recommendations for your specific case post a thorough examination.

Thank you for your question. Your surgeon is correct in that massage and time (scars take a year to mature) will help. Adjuncts such as microneedling would be helpful for improving the collagen makeup of the skin as well. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I wish you all the best.
