Why are my eyelids so heavy and what can be done about it?

Your photographs are inadequate. You may have brow descent and may need a brow lift as well as an upper blepharoplasty. An upper blepharoplasty will excise the skin around eyelids and a brow lift will raise the entire brow higher and may minimize the amount of skin resected at the time of blepharoplasty.

You might have mild toes of your upper eyelids. Visual field testing can be done by an optometrist or better yet. You can consult with an oculoplastic surgeon who can do a visual field exam and evaluate you if you have upper eyelid ptosis.
Sometimes this type of work is done by plastic surgeons, also facial plastic surgeons and oculoplastic surgeons. The background is not as important as skill and experience.
