Hello,After complete healing, at least a year from surgery, you would be a good candidate for a revision surgery on your belly button to achieve a more desirable appearance. If your surgeon isn't an ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeon who specializes in body contouring, go visit a few who are. Best of luck!

The belly button shape is generally created by the scarring and tension in the tissues. Surgery revision maybe necessary after a full year of healing. Seek a second consult. Good luck. 

It certainly falls within the range of what belly buttons look like. If you wanted a more open look, this is easily achieved and can be done under local anesthesia.

If you think that your belly button is too narrow then I would recommend that you get a picture or two of belly buttons that you think are attractive and bring them to the consultation.  You can return to your original surgeon or seek out a second opinion.  Then the surgeon can tell you whether a revision can be performed that will give you the result that you desire.  Most belly button revisions are pretty straightforward and can be done under local anesthesia.  Best of luck.
