Is it OK to exercise the day before rhinoplasty?

Exercising before your procedure is fine. However, it is important that you not participate in activities that you could harm yourself, as an injury before surgery may require you to prolong your procedure. Jogging, light weights, and things of that sort are ok to participate in before undergoing a rhinoplasty.

    I would rest the day of surgery for the reasons the others have mentioned.  As a bodybuilder, I know the temptation to workout is always there, but this one workout is not worth it.  Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Do not exercise the morning of surgery because you run the risk of becoming dehydrated and remember, you can't have anything to drink the day of surgery.

Exercise is considered a healthy activity (when not carried to extremes!).  Yes, after any real surgical procedure, for a time  (days or sometimes weeks) it is important not to overly stress one's body, and to not elevate  blood pressure & heart rate in order to avoid problems. But exercising prior to a procedure should be fine assuming it is a level of activity that one is accustomed to and no dehydration results.  If exercise just prior to a procedure is relaxing and calming, it may actually be a very good thing. But there should also be adequate time to "cool down"  and remain hydrated afterwards so one's body returns to a normal resting state prior to receiving anesthetic drugs and undergoing surgery. Remember that before sedation or general anesthesia, there is an "NPO" (no foods/drinks) time period which your surgeon will order for you. 

There would have no negative effect upon your surgery, except you would be fasting and unable to drink to rehydrate so this would be the only issue I could see. May be better just to relax.

There are no known negative effects on exercising right before your rhinoplasty surgery. Although I would think the benefits of it right before an important surgery may be less important than just relaxing in your surgical anticipation.

There is no reason why you can't exercise before your surgery. You can't drink anything however and if you can do that you are a much better gym goer than me. I down at least a liter during and after my workouts everyday. My advice, take a day off! It's one workout. But, I am sure you have your reasons so go for it. If you must just don't drink by accident because then you can't be put to sleep for 8 hours from the time you do

No good reason to exercise the day before surgery. I am not sure if it effects anesthesia but you should rest and relax.

It  is best not to  exercise  just  prior to you rhinoplasty surgery, since  you will be under general anesthesia.  

I would avoid exercise the day of surgery.   Why get run down and potentially dehydrated.  Remember you can not eat or drink just prior to surgery.
