Facial micro-liposuction, what is this technique called and what should I look for in a provider?

I would like to get facial microlipo but I’m only interested in the technique that involves lots of small incisions rather than the one with 2-4 incisions abs then the cannula moving around inside the face. What is that technique called and how do I find a provider who uses that technique.

The technique is usually described as facial or neck liposuction with microcannulas, often using a tumescent technique. It is important to know that even with very small cannulas, most surgeons use a few tiny access points and then work in controlled passes under the skin; making many separate incisions is not automatically safer and can increase visible scarring.

For facial liposuction, the key is less the number of incisions and more the surgeon's experience with conservative face and neck contouring, skin quality assessment, and avoiding over-resection. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon who regularly performs submental/jawline liposuction, can show consistent before-and-after photos, explains where the access points will be, and is willing to discuss whether liposuction alone is appropriate or whether skin laxity would require another approach.

Removing facial fat often ends up being a bad idea regardless of what technique is used. Normally it’s not the underlying problem for the aesthetic concern.
Reducing facial fat and set up people for premature facial aging in the future.
I remember one of my colleagues blurted out during a meeting to a medicine Doctor Who suggested surgery when he said “ A surgeon is a Doctor Who can prescribe an operation“.
I suggest finding a few very competent experienced top-notch senior plastic surgeons and getting their input and assessment then following their recommendations.
Picking your own operation whether it’s gonna work where is a good idea or not and then seeing what happens isn’t always such a great idea.
Micro liposuction is more of a marketing term making it seem like the procedure is less invasive. We’ve always had small cannulas so there’s nothing new about it other than no doctors call just about any cannula and micro cannula in order to seem like they have cutting edge equipment.
The only thing I’m aware of that makes a lot of incisions is micro needling.
It however does not remove fat. And it’s not liposuction
