Worried I have suddenly got capsular contracture or worse, could this be the case?

Capsular contraction develops over a period of time. A sudden increase in breast size could be related to a bleeding, fluid collection or infection around the implant. It could also be a sign of a very rare condition called ALCL which is mostly associated with textured implants. You would need to be seen soon to find out the cause of your condition. Make sure you bring all your records including the type of implant that was used when you make your appointment. 

Hello!Your story certainly sounds like capsular contracture. If the implant wears, there will be a scar response to this and that is what capsular contracture is. This does not put you in danger. You have time to schedule an appointment (weeks is definitely ok) - I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon. You can find one at plasticsurgery.org. Dear cocktailqueen00,There are some concerns about the events as you describe them.  If you cannot get to a plastic surgeon within a few days, then try to see your gynecologist or primary care physician to at least start the process of figuring out what has happened.  Good luck!
