I have mild capsular contracture after 2 years, and wondering if I go for a revision should I go to a new plastic surgeon to get a different brand implants? Currently i have mentor but have read Sientra causes less capsular. Would it also make more sense to remove both implants since if the capsular side is removed it will look lower than the other breast, and may need another revision for symmetry? I would appreciate your input.
I recently exchanged my 20+ year-old implants, for new high profile silicone, under the muscle. Its been 6ish weeks, I do have very tight muscles, could they settle in and look normal? Im following my surgeons protocol with massage, singulair, breast strap etc... what are the chances they drop in and I dont have to have another surgery?
I had implant removal (3 year old implants ~330cc) with a moderate capsular contracture of only one breast- replaced with approximately same sized impants. I am in my 30s and very active and healthy. I understand JP drain removal varies by surgeon, but my drains have been in for 12 days and they are draining less than 15 ml per day per drain of serosanguinous fluid, but my surgeon will not remove them. They are very irritating to me.
I had breast implants placed under the muscle. Early in the healing process the right implant was higher than the left, but my surgeon did not seem concerned. One year later I had an MRI as the asymmetry was still there and I wanted to check for rupture. No rupture, but do these images suggest capsular contracture or some sort of surgical error with the right breast? Including the left breast image as well for comparison. My surgeon says the pectoral muscle is holding onto the implant and suggested that it wont resolve without surgery.
Hi, I went to a consult with a surgeon today about operating on capsular contracture on my right side and he said to just operate on the right since my implants ( mentor memory gel HP 400 cc smooth/round) are only 4 years old. Is this recommended? Will they look weird if operated on seperately?
Hello doctors first of all thank you so much for your time and effort one of my implants is sometimes uncomfortable and feels weird the doctor checked it he said its soft you do not have capsular contracture but I doubt that I want to get them checked is there any other method beside MRI something cheaper thank you
750 cc Mod+ Natrelle implant on the right ruptured after 15 years in Jan 24'. Revision performed Mar. 24 w/755cc Mentor HP extra + bilat. Capsulorrhaphy. 2 weeks after surgery, right breast much lower than the left. Underwent a revision to the right breast in Sept. 24' w/revision to lateral capsulorrhaphy and mesh placed. Month and a half out of surgery, right breast is increasingly riding up right chest. Now the top of my breast is all implant and my IMF is higher. Is this capsular contracture?
Do you increase your risk of forming capsular contracture when you have a revision surgery? I had implants and a lift, then a year later I had to have a second surgery to re-do the lift and have mesh put in. Its been over 6 months and I think I may be forming a contracture on one side. so I was just curious if that second surgery increased my risk?
