First of all, medically you should not even consider to do a TT after a Csection and Hysterectomy. Your body is not ready for a surgery like that and will only add risk and possible complications and then the results are never the ideal. You should have the TT done until 6 months after the Csection and Hysterectomy for safety reasons first and secondly for the best result.Dr. Cardenas
I am not familiar with the specific requirement of the NHS but I will tell you what is required in the US.Ingeneral, insurance companies will only pay for a panniculectomy (a tummy tuckminus muscle tightening and no lipo) if you have functional problems associatedwith your stomach. These problems mightinclude skin rashes, wounds underneath the stomach, and difficultyambulating/walking due to the low hang of the pannus. If you have had weight loss they want yourweight to be stable for at least 3 months, for you to have lost at heast 75pounds, and you be at least one year out from weight loss surgery.
Hello,An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a cosmetic procedure and in general is not covered by any type of insurance. Insurance policies are designed to pay for services that are needed secondary to illness or trauma. More specifically, insurance policies will list what is covered and what is not covered in their plan. You could call up your insurance company at any time and ask them if this is something that is listed as part of their benefits. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
Most insurers would not consider anyone to be "entitled" to a tummy tuck. It may be offered to some patients who exhibit medical issues related to the skin excess, for example recurrent rashes in the skin folds. But the overwhelming majority of TT's are done for appearance reasons, and would not be covered. All the best.
If you have a full abdominoplasty, there is no way to preserve the belly button. If you have a mini abdominoplasty the belly button will likely survive.
Sounds like you had a seroma that spontaneously drained. probably not dangerous but worth checking in with your plastic surgeon.
