I have a bulbous nose with thick skin that I'm planning to get surgery on to fix. My side profile nose tip is blunt and has more of a c shape. Will reducing the size of my nose tip make my nose side profile look more defined/ pointy?

The bulbous appearance of your tip is related to the soft tissues as well as the shape of the tip cartilages. Both can be addressed with rhinoplasty surgery. It is worth noting that any changes to the soft tissues are more subtle.

You need additional dorsal support. Cartilage can be used to straighten the dorsum of the nose. Your tip needs to be refined as it is too bulbous. The fat underlying the skin can be resected at the time of rhinoplasty. You do not have any columella show so you may benefit from repositioning the media crura.

As far as I can see from your photos , for get rid of this image I recommend you a rhinoplasty surgery Your skin structure is thick, your recovery time may take a little longer than normal, but your wishes can be realized with a single operation.

Hello,The overall answer is yes. Some of the roundness or fullness you see on side profile is from the roundness of the tip cartilages, and so would improve the tip definition from all angles. The more important thing here is that if your interested in suregry, your consultation should include a thorough analysis of things like this. Computer morphed images are very important. They help the surgeon communicate to you what they belive will make you happy and what is possible. Good luck!

The answer to your question depends on what procedure is being done.
Rhinoplasty is not one operation.
It is a general term for many different procedures used to shape an author, the nose.
Some procedures are primarily based on changing the profile and other procedures change what it looks like from a frontal view.
 Rhinoplasty surgery is considered fairly complex and I suggest looking for plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with this procedure.
Ideally look for plastic surgeons who focus exclusively on rhinoplasty surgery, or those who have rhinoplasty as a major part of their practice.
Look for providers, who have at least one to two decades of rhinoplasty experience.
 Schedule multiple appointments with different providers.
During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics to your own.
Bring pictures of your face to use as reference during the consultation.
 It’s important for you to be able to communicate the exact type of changes you’re looking for whether you understand the nomenclature for the procedure or not.
It’s important to put in a solid effort to find the best provider for this procedure.
Doing so maximizes high, patient satisfaction and minimizes disappointment, and the need for revision surgery.
Take care notes during each consultation, especially regarding the quantity and quality of the before and after pictures.
