Hi, I am travelling to Turkey to get Rhinoplasty, BBL, Hair transplant and Buccal fat removal. In what order should I do these procedures? And how long should my whole stay be? I was thinking one month in total. Thank you
Answer: Rhinoplasty and buccal fat removal is a reasonable combination. Hair transplant surgery is typically performed while sitting in the upright position using local anesthetic. This would likely be a standalone procedure. We do not recommend combining facial plastic surgery with large area, body surgery. Wishing you well! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Combined surgeries I say do the one that you want most and forget the BBL. The hair transplant can be done separately awake under local anesthesia

Answer: Traveling and having multiple procedures Generally speaking, I do not recommend people travel long. This is us to have elective surgical procedures. The more extensive the surgery, the less I recommend traveling for it. I generally also do not recommend having multiple stacked procedures done at the same time. The chance of having quality outcomes for each of your procedures will decrease precipitously. When surgeons scheduled too much surgery for one day, they’re likely to cut corners and engage in cutting measures that are not consistent with Detail oriented quality work. Before even considering scheduling surgery, I recommend patients have multiple in person consultations to first get quality assessment regarding their candidacy for surgery and begin the vetting process of finding the right provider. Patients are typically not very good at making assessments regarding their own candidacy for procedures. I get patience coming into my office on a regular basis, requesting procedures that are not in their best interest at all. There is no correct amount of time for what you describe. The safety window after most procedures in regards to understanding. If you’re going to have a complication a week or two. Revision surgery is usually done six months after the primary procedure and with as many surgeries, as you are scheduling the chance of having issues, postoperatively and needing a revision is going to be real. I recommend patients have multiple in person, consultations with local plastic surgeons and not schedule all the procedures at one time. The best plastic surgeon for rhinoplasty is unlikely to be the best provider for a BBL. Providers tend to hone in on one area or the other. Those who are Jack of all trades tend to be master of non. I’m sorry if my response comes across as being pessimistic. I see red flags all over your post and I’m simply speaking from experience as a patient advocate. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
