I am 48 and had breast augumentation just over a year ago. I didn't get to do the rice test as my surgery was only a few weeks away from my consultation so I went with the advice of my surgeon. But also had lost quite alot of weight and did have large breasts before hand. He told me I didn't need a uplift?. The surgery went ahead and things was fine until the swelling started to go down then I noticed loose skin and my breasts falls away from the implant. Causing still sagging and sore breasts.
Answer: Breast lift Thank you for the question. It appears that you need a lift to elevate your nipples to a more youthful position and tighten the skin and breasts. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Houston. TX.

Answer: Sagging skin From the photos you have ptosis and will need a lift to correct this. You can consider changing your implants at that time if you wish. Larger implants are heavy and can lead to early sagging. Another option is to add bioabsorbable mesh at the time of the lift to support the tissues form the weight of the implants.

Answer: Double Bubble/Sagging Good morning, It appears that your implants and your breasts haven't meshed together quite as well as they should- I see that you have a little double bubble in the bending over photo- almost like your natural breast is sitting on top of your implants instead of them being one with each other- you could consider a lift and the Internal bra to make them behave more as one similar unit!

Answer: Weight loss and breast augmentation Congratulations on your weight loss! Losing a significant amount of weight can have important implications for breast augmentation results over the long term. One common side effect of significant weight loss is loss of skin elasticity. The reduced skin elasticity reduces the mechanical strength of the skin, reducing its ability to withstand stress. When a person has a breast augmentation, the implant imparts stress on the skin by virtue of the weight of the device. Studies that look at weight loss patients who have had breast augmentation report a higher risk of needing future breast operations including mastopexy (breast lift) in the months or years after surgery. Your photos and description suggest you would benefit from a breast lift. You may also benefit from placing support around your implants to help reduce the stretching effect of the implant on your skin. Breast pain after breast augmentation may be attributed to one or more of the following: capsular contracture, muscle spasm, muscle injury, nerve injury, rib irritation, or breast implant illness. A detailed history and exam are necessary help determine the cause of pain and the recommended treatment.
