Answer: Surgery after COVID-19 The answer to this question may vary by location or surgeon. However, the American Society of Anesthesiologists has put forward the following recommendations for elective surgery (not specific to cosmetic surgery per se) after COVID-19 infection: - Wait 4 weeks for patients who are asymptomatic or recovering from mild, non-respiratory symptoms- Wait 6 weeks for a symptomatic patient with cough or difficulty breathing who did not require hospitalization- Wait 8-10 weeks for a symptomatic patient who is diabetic, has severely low immune defenses, or is hospitalized (THIS GROUP OF PATIENTS ARE NOT CANDIDATES FOR COSMETIC SURGERY AS A GENERAL RULE)- Wait 12 weeks for a patient who was admitted to an ICU due to COVID-19 infection (THIS GROUP MAY NOT BE CANDIDATES FOR COSMETIC SURGERY)
